Nouns

A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.
It answers:

• Who? (e.g., entrepreneur, teacher)
• What? (e.g., document, courage)
• Where? (e.g., office, London)

Types of Nouns

1. Proper Noun

• Names a specific person, place, or organization.
• Always capitalized.

Examples: Elon Musk, Bangladesh Bank, Oxford University

2. Common Noun

• General name of a person, place, or thing.

Examples:  student, company, country, office

3. Concrete Noun

• Can be seen, touched, heard, tasted, or smelled.

Examples: pen, coffee, keyboard, file

4. Abstract Noun

• Names, ideas, emotions, or qualities.

Examples: honesty, success, intelligence, growth

5. Collective Noun

• Names a group of people or things.

Examples: team, committee, board, class

6. Compound Noun

• Formed by joining two or more words.

Examples: business plan, online course, office chair
